During a high-level summit in Stockholm on June 12, held in connection with the official visit of Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Sweden – Key Solutions signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the leading Vietnamese tech company SotaTek. The agreement marks the beginning of a long-term partnership focused on AI, digital transformation, and market expansion in the Nordic region.
A Bridge Between Vietnam and the Nordics – With AI at the Center
The official meeting took place at Epicenter in Stockholm, with Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Benjamin Dousa, also in attendance, alongside senior representatives from both governments and the business community.
The collaboration with SotaTek, one of Vietnam’s leading players in software development and AI solutions, positions Key Solutions as a key partner for Asian tech companies looking to establish themselves in Sweden and the broader Nordic region.
“This is an important step – not only for us as a company, but also for Sweden’s role in the growing technology collaboration with Asia. We see this as a strong recognition of our work in building bridges between international innovation and Nordic business development. And this is just the beginning. We believe this partnership can pave the way for a broader exchange of knowledge, innovation, and new business opportunities across borders,” says Karvan Guldstierna, CEO of Key Solutions.
AI and Digital Growth in Focus
The partnership aims to combine SotaTek’s technical expertise in AI, machine learning, and smart systems with Key Solutions’ capabilities in data-driven sales, market strategy, and local business development. The joint ambition is to accelerate growth for technology companies entering the Nordic market.
“SotaTek has an impressive portfolio within AI and digitalization. Our combined strength lies in connecting their technological innovation with our operational ability to rapidly establish strong market positions in the Nordics,” says Thomas Bäckström, Chairman of Key Solutions.
“We see this partnership with Key Solutions as an important strategic milestone in our international expansion. The Nordics represent an exciting and fast-growing market for advanced AI and digitalization services, where we see great potential in combining our technical expertise with Key Solutions' strong local market knowledge and commercial focus. Together, we are creating a solid platform to help Nordic companies accelerate their digital transformation,” adds Alain Bui, CIO at SotaTek.
A New Chapter in Sweden’s Trade With Asia
The meeting reflects the growing economic and political cooperation between Sweden and Vietnam, strengthened by trade agreements such as the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and Vietnam’s membership in CPTPP. Key Solutions’ participation in this context illustrates a clear ambition to translate these agreements into concrete business opportunities.
“In a time of global uncertainty, it is more important than ever to deepen relations with countries committed to free trade and innovation. Our collaboration with SotaTek is a concrete example of how technology and business can serve as drivers for international cooperation,” concludes Thomas Bäckström.
Next Steps: Scaling Growth and Market Entry
The signed agreement marks the starting point for several joint initiatives set to launch in 2025. The focus will be on developing AI-based solutions and accelerating market entry in the Nordic region, with Sweden as the first step.
The collaboration will include co-developing AI-driven solutions, knowledge exchange between the teams, and establishing a local presence to support Nordic companies in their digital transformation.
